about us

The Young Orators Club believes in creating true thinkers, knowledge for knowledge's sake and orators of the finest kind. The experience at YOCs is multi-dimensional knowledge, oratory, ideating and friends for life. Something YOCs lives and breaths is it's motto " Cogitas Veritas - To think truthfully." YOCS is not in the business of creating the next generation thinkers but believes in moving the next generation to think To find out the difference between a value, a moral, an ethic and a virtue or viewing things post-structurally during a session is a mental journey of a different kind.

The YOCs has provided a platform of discussion of varied topics, and the work of varied individuals. Few other gatherings can claim to have hosted presentations or aroused discussion on Kautilya and Camus, on Ayn Rand and Ingmar Bergman, on des Cartes and Phaedrus. Not to mention more mundane matters like nuclear disarmament, neo-colonialism, and reservations. The Young Orators can boast of people at MIT, Microsoft, IIM's ...but it is more interested in the potential of the ones who come to seek knowledge and become thinkers. For knowledge is power and to know one has to go in search of the truth..

Oration is the art of speaking - and speaking so that your audience really listens. Over the years, members of YOCS have designed and evolved sessions that help speaker's master this elusive skill. It’s a place where you can understand, learn, grow, and experience the true bliss in humanity’s greatest mode of expression – speech
